One Health Strategic Plan in Ukraine

GIS conducted a five-day workshop with delegates from Ukraine who represent public health, veterinary health, environmental science and relevant universities. All participants were nominated by ministry officials. The workshop took place in Odessa, Ukraine.

 The workshop focused on a SWOT analysis of current One Health programming, drafting of a goal, mission, vision and strategies for the draft One Health Strategic Plan, a draft one-year Operational Plan and key communication messages.

GIS presented modules about the purpose of SWOT analysis and strategic planning. We also presented a basic communication module to ensure that the group is using consistent messages for sensitizing ministry leadership.

GIS and CRDF Global facilitated several discussions, including coming to consensus on the definition One Health, prioritizing themes and developing objectives.
