Program Title: Addressing Biorisk Management Vulnerabilities, Improving Biosafety Practices, and Strengthening Coordination for Preparedness and Response in Sub-Saharan Africa.

GIS is currently implementing a multi-country biosecurity and OH projects in 6 countries in Africa (Kenya, Somalia, Nigeria, DRC, Gabon and Cameroon) that seek to improve the handling, containment and accountability of pathogens classified as high risk. The main objective is to develop regional networks of expertise, improve multisectoral coordination, and directly strengthen facility-level biorisk management capacity by ….

GIS has collaborated closely with Georgetown University’s Elizabeth R Griffin Program (GU-ERGP), Johns Hopkins University Center for Global Health, host government ministries responsible for human and animal health in various countries (Kenya, Nigeria, Somalia, DR Congo, Cameroon, Gabon and Tunisia), as well as other local implementing partners and a network of subject matter experts (SMEs).
